About NY-Outdoors.com
NY-Outdoors.com originally started as the "JAKAL Fishing Club" back in 2000. After a couple years of not much going on with the club, the original website was shut down and the club closed. I enjoyed the online friendships I had made with the few members the club had, and wanted to continue it some how. So, in 2003, I started NY-Outdoors.com as a place for people who lived in NY State to come and post in the forums, share stories and information in the Articles section (although that was added later), and have their pictures posted online.
While we're still a small community 5 years later, there have been many friendships made and a few great fishing trips taken together by the website members. My hope is to make this a place for everyone in NY to come and get information on everything outdoors related in the state. I try to keep the front page updated with news straight from the DEC, the forums have places for members to post fishing reports, tips and more, as well as hunting stories and ideas.
I try to incorporate as many member ideas as possible into the website, so member participation is strongly requested and suggested. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
